Glam, glory, and gusto; the three factors dominated Falguni Shane Peacock’s latest collection at the Lakmé Absolute Grand Finale. Earthbound, unveiled at the FDCI X Lakmé Fashion Week’s finale, marked the celestial presence of a world and its fascinating potential beyond our planet.
Actor and Star of the Millennials, Ananya Panday, played the perfect muse for the designers in an asymmetrical short dress. The pink short dress, replete with geometrical textures and patterns, is fastened with a long trail. Letting her short tresses loose in easy waves, the show-stopper’s look is finished with subtle makeup with the right ounce of drama, minimal accessories, and strappy stilettos.
Enveloping every minuscule of extravagance and drama, the kaleidoscopic collection of uber-glam short dresses doused in tassels and bling, evening gowns accentuated with cut-outs, power shoulders, and thigh-high slits, and exuberant bomber jackets and pantsuits detailed with intricately embroidered motifs dictated an utterly needed, grand-n-glam end to the fashion week. The myriad of electrifying colour palettes, prints and motifs, and signature feather detailing presents the edgy and extraordinary vision of the designers.
Inspired by the infinity of a stellar universe, that has baffled humankind for centuries, the collection is a futuristic take on the endless possibilities that the future holds. Moulded into the couture, the collection is a tempest of awe-inducing silhouettes, inventive usage of crystals, stones, sequins and other add-ons.
